News Bits From HistoryAmericaJulia Brown and her mother, Trudy, were onboard the historic Delta Queen last week as she sailed from Chattanooga to Cincinnati. It was good to see old friends, and make new ones, as Brian Wills educated (and entertained) the passengers with talks on Nathan Bedford Forrest and William Dorsey Pender. Updated information on the status of 2006 cruises with The Delta Queen Steamboat Co. will be sent to you as soon as we know more — we hope in the next couple of weeks. Silas Cochise, grandson of the legendary Chiricahua Apache chief of the same name, will be a special guest for our Apache Wars tour led by Neil Mangum, March 19–26, 2006. See pictures from the Men, Rails, and Mountains tour with Mike Koury from last summer, and then take a look at Barons, Bars, & Brothels: How the West was Fun! being led by Mike in 2006. |
